Hey pals (in case anyone is still watching),
I haven't been around the internet much in the few last weeks. That's mainly because I moved to Darmstadt to study architecture and my flat still isn't connected to the internet. I'm sending this journal over the wifi in the cafeteria of my uni.
Without the distraction of the internet around me at home, and a large Din A2-sketchbook that was compulsory for the course of studies, but will not be needed in its entirety, I decided to start a new project that has lasted much longer than most "long-term projects" that I started in the past.
The project consists of one picture each day (omitting weekends including Friday). It has already been running for two weeks but lacking an opportunity to scan A2-sheets, the digitalization has been delayed until now.
As for the pictures that have already been made, I only have to say: They din't have very much in commom. Some are rather weak, others are (imo) awesome, some take up the whole sheet and others would have fit on an A4 one.

Applications

Today I gave away my folder to HFG in Offenbach. It consisted of approximately fifty works of mine. Spent about four hours in Offenbach, with actually about two minutes of that being taken by the giveaway. It was the train timetable's fault. I got a look at three other applicants, with one of them carrying a folder that was actually a giant wooden case. This made me wonder for a short moment, whether my folder was too small to be accepted. But I still got a good feeling about it. I liked the area where the Uni had been built, the Main River was just about fifty metres away and the building itself had a lot of charme. I really want to be accepted for this one, judging from lesson description and general appearance, this would be the perfect place for me! Apart from that, atm Offenbach is the only place where I have applied and still have a chance of being taken.
I had also applied at Bauhaus Uni in Weimar. But today they sent me a letter. My application had been denied. Obviously, I did miss the point in the homework. If the application for Offenbach fails, I'm out of studying places, which is no good since one of the three basic aims I made for the year 2008 was a studying place. Dunno what I'm gonna do if I'm not successful.

A horrible hunch

READ AT OWN RISK
When I was in 5th grade, I felt very sick at school. I wouldn't puke but the sickness wouldn't stop either. With both of my parents not being at home, I was decided to be sent to hospital. I was kept there for a whole week, running through all kinds of examination, including sonography, ECG and even EEG. They didn't find anything and the final diagnosis was nothing but stress.
I hoped that this story would not be continued from that spot. How wrong I was.
Many years have passed since then. Today I'm done with school and at the moment I'm doing my community service, pushing around beds in the same hospital where I was kept so long ago. I even recognized the look of the different examination places. The thing that left me worried happened today when I had to take a patient from coloscopy back to his room. You may not know what exactly coloscopy is, so I'll give a short description of what I saw from explanation sheets lying around. First, your guts get artificially emptied and then pumped up with air. Then, a hose with a camera on its tip enters into your anus and gets in quite deep. While this happens you undergo a strong anaesthetisation.
Well, the man who I pushed out of the place obviously couldn't remember anything due to that anaesthetisation. He asked what had just happened and pointed out being disorientated, but I couldn't just tell him: "You just had a hose up your ass really, really deep!", so I left the explanations to the nurses.
Later that day I began to wonder. I could remember having my guts artificially emptied so many years ago with no obvious reason. I also remember having been in the endoscopy wing, being ordered to take a pill and to flush it down with a small bottle of juice (I also saw these bottles in the endoscopy wing during my community service). This pill kind of resembled the dormicum that patients are given before their surgery. What makes all that stuff worse, I can't remember what exactly happened after that. It could have been some kind of urine testing. I doubt it was some anaesthesy stuff, because I remember having been ordered to drink the whole bottle. If it was indeed a coloscopy, I'm happy about not remembering it.
